School Challenge Teams

The schools challenge was introduced in 2023 and saw four schools vying for the floating trophy and prizes.   It was wonderful to see so many young people taking up the challenge and raising funds.  This event affords learners the opportunity to give back while raising their awareness of the needs of our beneficiaries.

The winning school team will be determined by a combination of total number of ascents achieved between the start at sunrise (07h28) and the end at sunset (17h57) on challenge day, descending via the cable car, and the total funds raised by the team.

In 2024, the schools teams cumulatively completed a total of 204 ascents, raising over R249,000 in the process.
